Black Rose Martial Arts

Free martial arts trainning group, based in the London Action Resource Centre (LARC), 62 Fieldgate Street, Whitechapel.
Open to everyone interested in martial arts, from boxing to MMA.The Saturday session would usual look like this:
1-2pm Warm ups and Stand up work. (boxing, thai boxing etc)
2-3pm Ground work (BJJ/wrestling/mma)
3-4pm Sparing/rollingAnyone new to the group is advised to come at 1pm, and hang around as long as you want.We have L.A.R.C for 3 hours now, on the agreement that if any other groups need to book the space, we can only train for 2 hours.

Wednesday session at LARC:

5-6pm Sticks class
6-7pm Black Thorn (kids group)
7.30-9pm Yoga (not run by black rose, but some of us go cause, yoga is great for fighting)

The nature of training, means we get hot and sweaty, therefore everyone that comes to train should be clean and have their nails cut.

We do have training gear that anyone can use, but if you have been doing it a while, buying your own gloves is recommended for hygiene reasons. And if you are sparing/ rolling, gum shields, groin guards, shin pads and gloves (16oz pref) are a must.

Saturdays are our regular training meet-ups.

NO WINNERS, NO EGOS, NO FASCISTS.

    • Nothing, the sessions are free. You’ll need to get some equipment however if you are going to come regularly – see the tail end of the post above for info.

  1. I went by where the center is supposed to be in Fieldgate, and I couldn’t find it. There is a mosque and a Tesco nearby. Am I in the right place? if so, please tell me exactly where it is, I would like to try again this saturday. Thanks.
